National Conflict Resolution Center:  Attorney James McCormick has performed mediations for the NCRC, a full service alternative dispute resolution provider operating as a non-profit corporation in San Diego. The NCRC provides services including mediation training, conflict resolution, and community mediation.

Biography:  James R. McCormick, Jr., is a partner in the law firm of Peters & Freedman, L.L.P.. James attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received his undergraduate degree in Political Science. James then attended law school at the University of San Diego, where he was a teaching assistant for legal research, writing and oral advocacy and recognized as a Dean’s Outstanding Scholar. James has been formally trained as a mediator and mediated disputes for the former San Diego Mediation Center (now National Conflict Resolution Center).

In his 14 years in the industry James has served on various committees, including the San Diego CAI Newsletter Committee, for which he received a committee member of the year award. He has presented at numerous CAI events including the 2008 legislative update. James has published many industry-related articles and serves on the CACM Legislative Affairs Committee. James has created training programs for managers and Board members in San Diego, Coachella Valley and the Inland Empire and currently sits as the board president of his “very own” homeowners association.

James also tracks the latest technology advances that can be used by the common interest development industry and was instrumental in implementing and upgrading his firm’s online collections program which allows managers 24/7 access to status reports for their association’s collections accounts. In his “spare time” James also creates and manages several online communities. For his work James has received Microsoft Most Valuable Professional awards for the past four years and has been featured in various news and online media stories.
